Since the fifth century when the message of the Gospel began to spread from the Hill of Slane, communities have developed new ways of expressing their sense of God's presence in their lives.

Some communities have left reminders to us in carved stone (at Monasterboice), precious metal (Cross of Cong, Derrynaflan Chalice), manuscript (Book of Kells, Antiphonary of Bangor).

Skilled craftsmen have built churches, schools, hospitals so that Christian communities can continue to express their Gospel-fuelled enthusiasm.

This willingness to communicate the beauty of faith and community is something which Pope John Paul and Pope Benedict have addressed. We hope that this website provides you with a sense of the spiritual support and pastoral care which is available to all members of the Defence Forces.

Tours of duty overseas have provided "in theatre" study time for Fr Robert on html programming and using social media at the service of the Gospel

If there is some topic which you would like to see developed on this website, please get in touch with Fr Robert.
