Céad míle fáilte!

The pages which follow illustrate the work of the Defence Forces Chaplains at home in Ireland and overseas.

In 2002, Pope John Paul encouraged the Christian family to use all means of modern technology to make the message of the Gospel accessible to the world. He noted in particular the gradual development of the Internet from a means of internal military communication into a global network.

This site provides an interface for military personnel to deepen their participation in the faith of their community at home and overseas.

Since its launch in 2002, the website has been a valuable point of contact for bringing the work of chaplains to a wider-than-barracks environment. We have advertised the annual Military Pilgrimage to Lourdes and kept in contact with former pilgrims.

Last year saw the very successful launch of the PASSITON Campaign which raised over €75,000 to fund the shipment of 19 containers of books and humanitarian resources to Liberia.

We hope that your browsing of these pages will deepen your understanding of the resources which the Chaplaincy Service offers and be of assistance to you in your work and spiritual lives.
