Commemoration Ceremonies at Arbour Hill
The annual 1916 Commemoration Mass was offered in the Church of the Defence Forces at Arbour Hill on Wednesday 04 May 2011.

Prayers and texts of the Mass 
The Mass and Prayers at the burial plot are attended by the President, members of the Oireachtas, invited guests and relatives of those who took part in the 1916 Rising.
The homily (
) was preached by the Archbishop of Dublin, Most Reverend Diarmuid Martin.
Following the memorial Mass in the Church of the Sacred Heart, relatives of the deceased lead the procession to the memorial.
The burial plot is blessed with Holy Water during a brief prayer service conducted by the Head Chaplain to the Forces.
The Taoiseach invites Uachtarán na hÉireann to lay a wreath on behalf of the Irish people. The ceremony concludes with a minutes silence, after which the National Colours are raised to full mast and the National Anthem is sounded.
